The nationwide analysis of search engine data and more than 16 million social media posts revealed a diverse range of passions "that give Aussies their mojo", eBay said.
The top 20 is wall-to-wall sports. AFL, NRL and soccer top the list and are followed by UFC, American football, cricket and tennis.
Niche sports that ranked in the top 100 list include Formula 1 at number 12, rock-climbing at number 27 and badminton which is ranked at number 32. Cheerleading, ice-skating and scuba-diving also made the top 100.
Fish and aquariums ranked as Australia's 47th favourite interest with most enthusiasts aged between 18 and 24 years. More than 2,000 social media posts found Afro-beats music and tech-news were common sub-interests for fish fanatics.
